SmartCHANGE recently participated in the highly anticipated HELT2024 symposium, organised by Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). The event, held on April 25, 2024 in Brussels, brought together experts from universities, research institutions, and companies to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in AI, digital health, and digital policy.
In the session titled "Innovation and Regulation: Two Sides of the Same Coin," Gabriele Dominici and Dario Fenoglio from SmartCHANGE delivered a presentation on how their work in the project is breaking new ground on AI in healthcare:
Gabriele Dominici focused on the role of Explainable AI in improving the understanding of machine learning models. He highlighted counterfactual generators as a key example and discussed the importance of addressing AI safety challenges when deploying ML models.
