SmartCHANGE at EGI2026

SmartCHANGE at EGI2026
21–25 September 2026
Ghent, Belgium

SmartCHANGE is joining EGI2026, one of Europe's leading conferences for advanced computing, data-driven science, and innovation infrastructure, returning for a second year after our participation at EGI25 in Santander, Spain.

Why EGI2026?

Taking place in the city of Ghent, EGI2026 brings together digital and research infrastructure providers, data scientists, policymakers, and innovators to advance data-intensive science. It is a natural home for projects like SmartCHANGE, where AI, health data, and responsible digital infrastructure intersect.

SmartCHANGE at the event

This year, SmartCHANGE is present with a dedicated workshop session and an exhibition booth, both open to all conference attendees.

On Tuesday, 22 September at 15:30, SmartCHANGE hosts the session "Preventing Non-Communicable Diseases through Risk Forecasting". Non-communicable diseases are responsible for around 90% of deaths in Europe and many billions of euros in direct and indirect costs, yet many of these risks are shaped by lifestyle habits established in childhood. The workshop showcases the digital solution developed by SmartCHANGE and engages participants in a broader discussion on how AI-powered tools can support the development of healthy lifestyle behaviours at young ages to decrease NCD-related risks in adulthood.

Throughout the conference, the SmartCHANGE exhibition booth offers a space to learn more about the project, explore the tools, and connect with the team. Whether your focus is AI in health, federated data infrastructure, open science, or responsible innovation, we look forward to exchanging ideas and exploring opportunities for collaboration.

More details on the session will be shared soon. In the meantime, visit the official EGI2026 website to learn more about the conference.
