Purpose & Scope

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a significant global health challenge, accounting for 74% of deaths worldwide. Addressing their origins, which include genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors, through prevention efforts aimed at children and adolescents can yield lasting benefits.

E-health technologies offer great potential in NCD prevention but face several challenges, including implementation gaps and inconsistent outcomes. Engaging end-users in the design of e-health solutions enhances their effectiveness and relevance. The SmartCHANGE project, funded by the EU, aims to improve risk prediction and promote healthier behaviours among youth via an AI-based e-health platform and mobile apps. This webinar will explore the co-design process, sharing insights and best practices from designers and researchers involved in this initiative.
