On May 29–31, 2025, SmartCHANGE is participating in the 1st Szeged International Health Sciences Conference, a premier scientific forum bringing together experts, researchers, and professionals to discuss the latest advancements in medical and health sciences.
About the event
Organised by the Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Studies at the University of Szeged (Hungary), this inaugural conference aims to foster innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing in healthcare. The event features:
- Plenary lectures and 25–30 presentations across thematic blocks in English and Hungarian.
- A poster session for young researchers and doctoral students to showcase their work.
- Discussions on public health, AI in medicine, translational research, sports medicine, and more.
- Public lectures highlighting cutting-edge research, including the HUNOR Hungarian space research programme.
With a focus on patient care, disease prevention, and interdisciplinary cooperation, the conference is a key platform for professionals and students in health sciences.
SmartCHANGE at the event
On May 30 (11:40–12:00 CEST), José Carlos Ribeiro PhD (Universidade do Porto, SmartCHANGE partner) is leading a session on: "AI-Based Long-Term Health Risk Evaluation for Driving Behaviour Change Strategies in Children and Youth."
This session explores how SmartCHANGE leverages AI-driven risk prediction models to promote healthier lifestyles in young populations, reducing long-term risks of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The project’s innovative tools — including the web app for professionals and the mobile health app — aim to empower families and healthcare providers with personalised prevention strategies.
